Chris Brown Checks in and out of Jail; Tweets That He’s Quitting Music

Chris Brown managed to turn himself in to police on Monday without any media attention.
After pleading not guilty to charges from a May hit-and-run, the Grammy Award winning singer went to jail briefly and was released within less than an hour. Online records show that Brown turned himself in at the Van Nuys jail at around 2:40 p.m. and was booked before being released at 3:22 p.m.
The singer openly denied the incident as a hit-and-run and has since had two lesser charges dismissed (driving without a license and driving without proof of insurance). In May, Brown allegedly rear-ended a driver at a red light before speeding off. Prosecution dismissed the two misdemeanors because Brown presented his Virginia license and proof of insurance, but had the singer’s probation revoked following the incident.
“I’ve made mistakes in the past and have worked hard to be a better person,” tweeted the oft-embattled crooner last month as he protested the charges. “I don’t have all the answers and you can’t show me a person that age who has it figured out. We live and grow. Let me live.”
Brown, who has been marred with media scrutiny since the 2009 Rihanna incident, continues to face backlash left and right. Growing frustrated, he took to his Twitter account to write, “Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album.”
Let’s just hope that this was just the anger speaking.
