MAG COVERS: EMINEM IS OLD SCHOOL MEETS NEW SCHOOL ON ‘COMPLEX’

On the eve of Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 release, Complex magazine unveils a double digital cover that pays homage to old-school rap mags. While one lid looks fresh and new-aged (below), the other boasts chunky letters and bold headlines, something reminiscent of The Source‘s vintage aesthetic (up top).

For its December/January issue, Complex traveled to Detroit to collaborate with team Shady and commemorate the rapper’s upcoming eighth studio album, which has garnered much anticipation via Internet hype. With 13 years having passed since Eminem dropped the Marhall Mathers LP, which, as stated by Complex, “cemented Em’s spot in the pantheon of rap gods,” the sequence is bound to mark another Hip-hop moment.
